Rick grew up near Croydon and graduated at Reading University. He entered the construction industry and one of his first jobs took him to the middle east for a year. This is where he first experienced radio presenting as a volunteer, broadcasting 45s from an air force radio station to the local expat community.
Most of his working life was spent in the NHS, managing hospital building projects, and heating/power installations.
He retired in 2018, and now seems to spend a lot of time walking the dogs. He enjoys travelling and tries to go sailing every summer, and snowboarding in the winter. His music tastes are pretty all inclusive – something that fits the mood is what he listens to.
Family wise, he and his wife Karen have four boys between them, all in their 20s.
