It’s a real pleasure to join the HHCR team, my love of music started proper in the mid 80’s as I came across the former radio London and before long my love of Soul music was forged.
Rewinding a Good few years and as a teenager growing up in Bracknell I would socialise at the newly built John Nike Leisuresport complex, supporting the Bracknell Bees and skating building up a rapport with the resident DJ who decided to travel to pastures new, and as luck would have it I found myself in the hot seat as not only the hockey announcer but resident DJ – to say it was a baptism of fire would be an understatement but that’s a story for another day.
Fast forward 3 decades will find me living in Basingstoke, married to the long suffering Mrs B. with two teenage sons and a silly cocker spaniel.
Announcer for the Basingstoke Bison, Reading FC and continuing to spin a few tunes as a mobile DJ. The highlight of my love of Ice Hockey has allowed me the privilege to become the voice of Team GB and announced England men’s senior team football at Wembley.
What has never dwindled has been my love of Soul, Disco and funky foot tapping tunes and am relishing the opportunity to play my favourites as well as introducing some new songs to our listeners.
